Fourth States Win In A Row!

Armadale City Concert Band convincingly won its division in the 2010 State Band Festival in competition against three other senior community bands.

Having won the Concert Band section in the State contests for 2007, 2008 and 2009, ACCB was keyed up to maintain its position.  Competing against Claremont Concert Band, Mandurah Concert Band, and City of Perth Concert Band the competition was keen.  The outcome was one of our best winning margins, coming in eight points in front of our nearest rival, City of Perth Concert Band.  Our aggregate of 184 was the highest Concert Band aggregate awarded over all concert band divisions this year.  For our test piece "Overture to A New Age" we gained 95%, the highest mark of any concert band from any division in the competition and seven percentage points ahead of our nearest rival, Mandurah Concert Band.  We also gained the highest mark in our division for the march (48/50), two marks clear of our rival City of Perth.  Our section of the State Festival had more competing bands than any other division and so this makes the win even more remarkable and important.  Come on 2011 States!
